Hi! My name is Lisbeth Moores. I am a mixed media sculptor and painter based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. My inspiration comes from sacred art and the beauty that I find in worn and rusted artifacts. Using found items in my assemblage pieces allows these bits and elements to gain new life and continue their stories.
My Story
I am a contemporary Santera. I build my art with found items and a bit of humor. I believe there is spirituality in everything and that everything is connected. The bits and pieces that are found in my art have been held, perhaps treasured by someone else. By collecting those items and placing them in my art, my work continues to tell their stories. My art expresses my seeking of meaning and purpose as well as my connectedness to the moment, to the past, to nature, and to the significant and the sacred in all things.
